Legoland Japan to expand based on EDG urban plan

by admin on

In 2011 EDG was commissioned to design the urban layout which would become home to Japan’s first Legoland theme park in Nagoya. Since opening in early 2017, Legoland has announced its intentions to expand the park from 23 to 32 acres, bringing in new facilities such as an aquarium and hotel.

In order to grow effectively, themed destinations should always plan for future phases of development. The plans must be both notable and practical. This expansion represents a recognition of that equilibrium. It’s a credit to the mindfulness of the original urban design.
